What is PAP formula and how does it whiten teeth?

The innovative HelloSmile PAP formula is enriched with vitamins and minerals that make your teeth stronger and whiter.

 

The PAP formula contains three active ingredients that protect and whiten your teeth:

 

Phthalimidoperoxycaproic acid (PAP) is an active tooth-whitening agent. PAP reacts only with stains on the teeth, without releasing free radicals — which are the main cause of tooth sensitivity, gum irritation, and demineralization.

 

Potassium nitrate is a mineral that protects the tooth nerve. It doesn't just work on the surface but penetrates deep into the tooth and through the soft layer of dentin to provide long-lasting protection against pain and sensitivity.

 

Hydroxyapatite is the main component of teeth. The HelloSmile PAP formula contains hydroxyapatite obtained through a synthetic process that replaces lost minerals by restoring damaged enamel. With regular use, it strengthens the protective layer of the teeth.

 

The carefully selected ingredients are safe for use even with sensitive teeth and gums.

Does the HelloSmile PAP formula contain hydrogen peroxide?

The improved HelloSmile formula does not contain hydrogen peroxide. Considering the harmful effects peroxide can have as the main tooth-whitening agent, we carefully created a formula that is suitable even for sensitive teeth and gums.
 

The HelloSmile formula contains vitamins in the form of aloe vera leaf extract, chamomile flower, and pomegranate seed, as well as safe active ingredients such as PAP, hydroxyapatite, and potassium nitrate, which make teeth stronger and whiter.

Is teeth whitening with the improved formula truly safe?

Clinical studies have proven that the improved PAP formula is not only safe to use, but also contains ingredients that have been shown to strengthen teeth and reduce existing sensitivity.
 

Given the harmful effects caused by hydrogen or carbamide peroxide as whitening agents, we carefully developed a formula enriched with vitamins and minerals that make teeth stronger and whiter.

Does the new formula cause tooth and gum sensitivity?

It has been clinically proven that our PAP formula does not cause tooth or gum sensitivity.
Potassium nitrate, a powerful desensitizing agent, helps prevent sensitivity in both teeth and gums.
 

During whitening, PAP acts exclusively on stains on the teeth without damaging the protective layers, thus avoiding irritation and demineralization.

How much time is needed to achieve maximum results?

A noticeable difference can be seen after 1 to 4 days, depending on the current shade of your teeth. 

Clinical studies have proven that the improved HelloSmile whitening pen can whiten your teeth by up to eight shades.

How long do the HelloSmile whitening pen and LED device last?

The HelloSmile whitening pen contains 2ml of gel, which is enough for 25 to 30 applications. The gel should be applied in a thin layer only. One to two twists of the pen mechanism dispense enough gel onto the brush for a single treatment.

The LED device is virtually long-lasting with proper care and use. It features a convenient magnetic charger and a durable battery. Simply attach it to the adapter — after two hours of charging, the device will be ready for the next 7 treatments.

Is activated charcoal a substitute for toothpaste?

HelloSmile activated charcoal is not a substitute for regular oral hygiene.

This 100% natural powder formula is enriched with nutrients that help clean the teeth from plaque and impurities, while also slowing the growth of bacteria. In addition to these benefits, activated charcoal effectively whitens teeth, providing a longer-lasting whitening effect.

It should be used after regular tooth brushing.

Can I use HelloSmile products during pregnancy?

We do not recommend using the HelloSmile whitening pen and LED device during pregnancy, as a precautionary measure. However, the Activated Charcoal, thanks to its 100% natural composition, is completely safe for dental care and whitening during pregnancy.
 

During the breastfeeding period, we advise consulting your doctor before using the HelloSmile whitening pen and LED device.

Can I use HelloSmile products while wearing braces?

We do not recommend using HelloSmile products while wearing braces, as the gel cannot effectively reach the areas beneath the brackets.
 

You can begin using HelloSmile products after your braces have been removed.

Can I use HelloSmile products on artificial teeth (crowns, bridges, fillings, veneers, laminates)?

HelloSmile products are intended for natural, vital teeth, and in those cases, we guarantee noticeable whitening results.
 

However, the improved PAP formula has also proven effective for many of our customers with partial or full artificial teeth, helping to maintain the shine and whiteness of crowns, veneers, or other dental work.

Product usage

How do you use the HelloSmile whitening pen?

Our peroxide-free whitening pen is very easy to use.
 

Start by removing the cap and twisting the mechanism at the bottom until the gel appears on the brush. Make sure to brush your teeth beforehand, and if possible, use a tissue to dry your teeth — the drier the surface, the better the results.
 

Apply a thin layer of gel to all visible teeth. Keep your lips apart for 1–2 minutes to allow the gel to set and prevent it from sliding off. If this feels difficult, try relaxing your lips and breathing through your teeth for a few minutes to help the gel dry faster.
 

Avoid eating or drinking for 20 minutes after application. After that, simply rinse your mouth with water.
 

Repeat the treatment daily for 14 consecutive days, then take a 7-day break before starting another cycle.

How do you use the LED device?

1. Brush your teeth before use.
 

2. Apply a thin layer of gel to all visible teeth.
 

3. Activate the device and place it in your mouth for 16 minutes.

 

4. After the session, rinse your mouth and the device with water.

 

Repeat the treatment daily for 14 consecutive days, then take a 7-day break before starting another cycle.

How do you use HelloSmile Activated Charcoal?

1. Wet your toothbrush, then dip it into the activated charcoal powder. Gently brush your teeth using light circular motions.

 

2. Leave the charcoal on your teeth for 3 minutes to allow it to bind to surface stains.

 

3. Rinse your mouth thoroughly with water, then use dental floss to carefully remove any remaining powder between your teeth.

 

4. Repeat the process every evening after your regular oral hygiene routine, or at least 3 times a week for optimal results.

How many times a day should I use HelloSmile products?

Use HelloSmile products once a day.

I have excess saliva during the treatment. What should I do if I swallow it?

Excess saliva buildup during the treatment is completely normal and will not affect the whitening results. If the saliva becomes uncomfortable, feel free to spit it out into the sink at any time.
 

If you accidentally swallow a small amount of the formula during treatment, don’t worry — all ingredients are completely safe.
